What is Enhanced Search?
By enabling this feature, Truecaller boosts your search experience with more information and better accuracy on hundreds of millions of phone numbers! This allows Truecaller to securely send names and phone numbers in your phonebook to Truecaller, which may be made searchable by others.
Please note that Android users do not have the ability to collaborate their phonebook. By enabling Enhanced Search for Android, this will only populate the results based on your circle of friends. We need to securely access and store your phone numbers (meaning no names and addresses). Your information will not be shared or accessed by anyone but Truecaller.

What information does Truecaller access?
Truecaller only accesses your phone’s contacts when you voluntarily agree. We do not store this data in our backend. We also have absolutely no access or desire for credit card numbers, pin codes, or passwords.
-
How do you get your data?
We collect our data through our partnership with different white/yellow pages throughout the world and through voluntary user contact uploads.
Please note that, phonebook contribution has been and always will be optional. Only phone numbers and names are used and all data is transferred and kept by Truecaller using secure methods.
Users on the Android platform downloaded from Google Play will until further notice not be able to contribute to this database, but will nevertheless experience the same level of service as if they had. -
Can a person call me through Truecaller?
No! We are not a calling service. A notification acceptance system alerts you when another user tries to get in touch with you. It is up to you to decide who can see your contact details through Truecaller. No one can contact you directly through Truecaller unless you want to or your information is in public directories.
-

Why do I get ‘no results?’
Try turning on the “enhanced search” function (in settings). If still no result, the number or name you are looking for may not yet be in our database.

Enhanced Search is activated, but still no results:

-
Why don’t I receive live callerID?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to do live number lookups during incoming calls on iPhone and Windows Phone. This is a platform specific restriction that applies to all the apps running on iOS and Microsoft platforms. We wish Apple and Microsoft would bring this functionality to their platforms with their updates. As soon as this restriction disappears, Truecaller will implement caller id functionality and give information about the caller instantly.
-
How to completely block a call?
Unfortunately we can only warn you from spam calls, and not entirely block the call. This is due to the fact that Apple and Windows has technically restricted developers to utilize that function. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.
-
Block SMS?
Due to Apple/Microsoft restrictions, you are unable to block or protect against SMS messages.
-
Will my contacts disappear while disabling Exchange?
By disabling Exchange, you will not lose all your contacts. If you have Microsoft Exchange, this could interfere with our call filter and being protected by spam calls. To solve this problem, go into your native settings/mail accounts and select your Exchange account. Turn 'off' contacts. Press 'Delete from iPhone' (your contacts will NOT disappear). Go back into Truecaller, you should see a message to enter 'Protected by Truecaller' in your phone book. Press 'yes' to be protected. Now go back to Exchange in your settings and turn contacts back 'on' and choose 'keep on my iPhone,' twice. Your contacts will return. -
