A Close Call: How a Fake Delivery Agent Tried to Hack My Amazon Account
I received a call from someone on Truecaller named "Delivery Boy." He said, "Yesterday, I delivered an Amazon product worth Rs. [amount] to you. I was unable to register the product in the warehouse system, so please tell me the OTP you just received." An OTP had indeed just arrived via WhatsApp—which made sense, because the actual delivery person the day before had been very polite and waited for me for 10 minutes. However, the caller then said, "Sir, the OTP is now going to your email ID, please tell me that one too." I didn't tell him. I told him, "I only received an OTP on WhatsApp." He tried two more times, but I refused to share it. Finally, he said, "Call me once you receive it." When I checked, the email OTP wasn't for delivery at all—it was a fraudulent attempt to sign in to my Amazon account. The scammer was trying to log in from Jaipur, Rajasthan, while I am located in a completely different state, which is why Amazon triggered an email verification OTP. It was a very close call. I avoided a breach, but if I had given him that email OTP, he would have hacked my Amazon account. Now, Amazon is investigating how this scammer obtained my contact details, personal information, and order [TXN_ID]. Has anyone else faced a similar experience? Please share.

And contacted me that my order is a chappal in this location. If I want to cancel or not. I told them to cancel. And they sent me login OTP. I said, I can reach your office which is 32 km only.
