Email phishing

New hacker trend: Attackers are reportedly exploiting Google Find Hub to locate email accounts and take them over. Once they gain access, they can wipe out data, change recovery information, and hijack linked social media accounts by replacing login credentials. In my case, the hacker accessed my email and attempted to take control of my social media accounts by changing the login information. Thankfully, I was able to secure my accounts by immediately changing my passwords and ensuring they were linked to my trusted device and phone number. This prevented the hacker from fully taking over my social media accounts.
