  So, I was watching my local news station the other day, and they had this pretty wild report that I think everyone should hear about. Apparently, there’s been this bizarre scam going around where people are getting automated text messages. You know, those annoying texts that pop up out of nowhere? Well, in this case, these messages claim that recipients have outstanding warrants for their arrest. The crazy part is, a good number of these folks don’t have any warrants at all! The message goes on to instruct them to visit specific police department websites and even scan a QR code to make a payment on this supposed warrant. Now, let me tell you, that sounds super sketchy because, simply put, it’s a total scam. This isn’t how law enforcement does business in the ***. at all. In reality, police officers here don’t send out texts asking you to pay a fine online. Nope! The procedure is way more straightforward. If you have an actual warrant, you’d usually need to head to your local police station in person. You’d go right up to the front desk and pay your dues directly to a cashier. No electronic payment nonsense or QR codes – just you and the cashier handling everything face-to-face. So, if you ever get one of those texts telling you about a warrant, just know it’s a total sham. Instead of rushing to some website or scanning a code, it's best to double-check with your local police department. Always better to be safe than sorry, right? Just stay aware of these sneaky scams floating around out there!
