Fake Ola customer care lures victims to install APK via WhatsApp
⚠️ Serious Scam Alert – Fake Ola Customer Care I recently forgot my mobile phone in an Ola cab. I tried to contact the driver through the Ola app but could not find the driver's contact number. I searched Google for Ola customer care and found a number starting with 1800. When I called, the person asked me to continue the conversation on WhatsApp from a private number. They then: • Asked me to make a video call • Asked me to share my mobile screen • Sent me an APK file and instructed me to install it • Claimed that my complaint could be registered only after installing the APK Fortunately, I was aware that this was a potential remote-access/phone-hacking scam, so I stopped the conversation and did not install the APK or share access to my phone. I request Ola and the concerned authorities to investigate this urgently. Such fake customer-care numbers appearing in Google search can put customers at serious risk of financial and personal-data theft. Ola, please look into this and ensure customers can easily access the verified driver contact/support option through the official app. #Ola #OlaCabs #ScamAlert #FraudAlert #CyberCrime #OnlineFraud #CustomerCareScam #CyberSecurity
