Fake Trade Refund & Balance SMS Scam

What happened: Received a highly suspicious SMS from sender "SBSPLT" claiming a fake refund of Rs. 16,706 and a massive false trade balance of Rs. 7,36,263. The scammers are illegally using the name of 'SHRI BRIJ SECURITIES PVT LTD' to trap innocent users. Key Red Flags: • Suspicious Link: The message includes an unauthorized short link (bit.ly/4BlglzW) asking to withdraw money. Genuine stockbrokers or financial institutions never use such untrusted URLs for fund transfers. • Urgency & Greed Bait: Displaying a huge, unexpected balance is a psychological trick to force the user to click the link without thinking. • Masked Account Details: It mentions a generic layout like 'Account xxx313' which does not belong to the user. How to stay safe: • DO NOT click on any link inside such messages. It could install malware or steal your banking credentials. • Never share OTPs or personal details if prompted by these links. • Block the sender immediately and report it here on Truecaller to help save others.
