Fraud Department
at about 10 am last night I recieved a phone call. I wasn't near my phone, but I never get a call that late. they called 2 more times. on this 3rd call I answered it because it came up as my bank on my phone. The man on the phone, very professionally tells me that he is with the --bank name - fraud department and he want to confirm some transactions. Then he asked me if I am currently traveling? I say NO why, as he tells me someone across the country has my info and is trying to log in on my mobile account. Of course I said No, getting a little panicked and he asked me for my current log in info for my mobile app. That was what got me. I almost gave him this info until I said wait a sec, how do I know your not trying to get into my bank account. he professionally tells me that he understands why id think that and trys to persuade me to trust him and I said no please, don't touch my account, I will go to my bank when they open in the morning. Then I hung up the phone. They did not call back. I looked up the situation on Google and immediately said it was a scam. Just be careful, because what scammed like to do is cause you to panic and create fear. I almost fell for it, then I remembered that. However it is very scary they did no my first name, and that I was a banker at - bank name.- and the state i lived in. Then the worst part was, the phone number came up as my bank on the phone.how did they do that? well needless to say my account is fine, but don't ever fall for that, if it feels off, trust yourself.

a bank my mom has was spoofed by a scam caller as well and she was going to tell them all her information if I had not overheard her conversation and told her to hang up immediately. We went to the bank the next day and sure enough no one from her bank had called her and it was a fraud call. Never give any personal information out over the phone, not even your birthday or any medical information because scammers will add this to a database they collect on people to try and scam them in the future again. Either pretending to be your bank again or social security or someplace important.
