I saw a clothing page on Instagram and ordered dresses through WhatsApp. The seller looked genuine because the page was old, had many photos, reviews, and customer videos. They asked for advance payment, so I paid ₹1000 for the order. After two days, I received a call from another number. The person claimed to be from an Amazon delivery team and said my parcel was stuck. Then they asked me to send ₹2000 more to clear the order and promised that the amount would be refunded later. At first, they spoke very politely and tried hard to convince me. They kept saying there was no risk and that the payment was necessary for delivery. Slowly I realized something was wrong because genuine companies usually do not ask for extra money like this on WhatsApp or personal accounts. I understood that it was likely a scam. Luckily, I did not send the additional ₹2000. I lost ₹1000, but stopping at the right time saved me from a bigger fraud. This experience taught me to stay alert while shopping online and to avoid trusting unknown Instagram or WhatsApp sellers easily.
