POLICE identity fraud victim!!!
The caller called with a Private number, they then proceeded with that they are the Australian Federal police cyber crime task force using a British accent "didn't sound ai but probably was". They then said my personal information was leaked and was part of an investigation "topic related to crypto currency". They then listed off all the exchanges and cold wallets that I have used and purchased " at this point I knew my Gmail was hacked". They obtained full access to my Gmail and they had my name, date of birth, address, and purchase history. They sent me an email "see attached" with a case report asked for my local police station to inform me that they will now deal with the case in person and I should attend to it. A couple of hours later I got a call from that local police station "private number, now an Australian accent" they then proceeded to try and get more information out of me. At that point I realised it was a scam. I would normally hang up on private numbers but hey it was the so called police and I had live funds on the line. Note this was very professional they had dormant access to my gmail for over a year when I must of had 2fa switched off whilst changing phones. Please regularly check what other devices are connected to your accounts this is my lesson's learnt, I failed to do this.

They probably got your info off the dark web especially after the hacks here in Australia alone đ, Medibank hack, Telegram ((I think) and more. If they want me to verify my info I don't do it because they can trick you to give more (scammers). The police usually state who they are and if something like this is going on they'll ask you to come in. I hope đ that you didn't give them any more info because that's how they can steal your identity as well.

what did you say to them? why would they police want info from you? if there is an investigation and ur data leaked, then they already have ur info or why would they call you? seems like a pretty obvious scam...
