🚨 UNPAID INTERNSHIP OR TOO MANY CONDITIONS? I’m a Fresher and I Genuinely Need Your Advice
I’m a fresher, and like many students starting their careers, I was excited to receive an internship opportunity. But after reading the offer letter carefully, I became confused—and honestly, a little uncomfortable. This is an unpaid internship, yet the offer letter mentions: 📌 Working hours: 10 AM – 7 PM 📌 Working days: Monday to Saturday (6 days) 📌 I have to use my personal laptop/device 📌 PAN card copy and other documents are required at joining 📌 A 12-month non-compete clause after leaving 📌 Restrictions on recruiting or influencing the company's employees after leaving 📌 A non-disparagement clause restricting public statements about the company after leaving And now I'm asking myself: Is this normal for an unpaid internship? As a fresher, I don't have years of corporate experience to know what is standard and what should make me pause. I’m not trying to accuse anyone or make assumptions about the company. I simply want to understand what I'm agreeing to before I sign anything or submit sensitive documents. The biggest question in my mind is: When you're a fresher desperately looking for your first opportunity, how do you know when you're getting valuable experience—and when you're accepting terms you don't fully understand? I would genuinely appreciate advice from HR professionals, experienced employees, founders, lawyers, and people who have gone through internships. 🙏 If you've been in a similar situation, please share what you did. Your comment might help another fresher who is sitting with an offer letter right now, wondering the exact same thing. Freshers shouldn't have to choose between their first opportunity and protecting themselves. #Freshers #Internship #UnpaidInternship #CareerAdvice #InternshipExperience #Students #HR #JobSearch #CareerGrowth #Workplace #CorporateLife #FirstJob

Whatsoever, If the job asks you to pay like whatever amount of money, i hope you're aware NOT TO pay them money at all cost because not only will u be losing your hard earned money but also the documents that u have given to the company. For example, If they ask you to pay them 500 rs js because your an intern at the job, then it's a scam. be aware.
