The fake Doctor
Ramesh took his sick mother to a big hospital in the city. While waiting outside, a man wearing a white coat came to him. “I am a doctor,” the man said softly. “Your mother needs urgent treatment. The hospital medicine is expensive, but I can help you get it cheaper.” Ramesh became worried and trusted him. The fake doctor asked for 20,000 rupees and promised to bring the medicine quickly. After taking the money, the man disappeared. Hours later, Ramesh asked a real nurse about the doctor. The nurse looked shocked. “He does not work here,” she said. Ramesh realized he had been scammed. He reported the matter to the police, but the fake doctor was never found. From that day, the hospital warned all visitors: “Never give money to anyone without checking their identity first.”
