In the latest update to the Truecaller SDK, we have refreshed the verification dialog UI, and introduced a new bottom sheet layout. As developers adopt Android’s material design guidelines, the industry is moving towards introducing more native components and including bottom sheet based transition as a best practice.

In the new avatar of the verification dialog, end-users see a layout component transitioning from the bottom of the screen, as compared to the existing centre modal. Developers using Truecaller SDK can also customise the Truecaller verification dialog on their Android apps and/or mobile websites. This will provide more context and give a native feel to their users.

We’ve added support for customisation options in the design elements, as well as for contextual messaging to the users! The intention is to blend the look and feel of the verification dialog for your app or mobile website’s branding. It will also help provide a better context of the verification checkpoint to the users coming to your platform, and  provide a seamless onboarding experience.

What’s new:

In addition to the existing verification flow, Truecaller SDK now offers third party developers:

  • New and customisable bottom sheet dialog for one-tap verification via Truecaller.
  • The capability to change the button shape to solid rectangular or curved buttons, and also to modify the background and text color for your branding.
  • Use case/touch point specific context setting for the user (Example: to get started, to get details, to subscribe, to proceed, etc.)
  • Capability to add terms and conditions and privacy policy links in the same dialog.

Here’s a quick guide on customisation possibilities and steps to upgrade to the new design with your existing Truecaller SDK implementation.

We would like to thank our developer community for continuously sharing their feature requests and ideas to improve the SDK. We are always listening, and look forward to hearing from you. It helps us evolve our product.
