COVID-19 Helpline Feature in Truecaller
While most of us sit in mandated lockdowns or just self-quarantines, it is important that the right information about COVID-19 is reaching us. With Truecaller focused on safe and efficient communication, we have created a new feature to help spread correct information.
We have all heard stories about how to avoid COVID-19, but our message to everyone is not to trust forwarded messages from friends and family unless it is a trusted source.
We have rolled out government COVID-19 helplines across various countries to provide official information at your fingertips about the disease. Currently, this feature is available for India, Sweden, Nigeria, Israel, Egypt and South Africa.
What happens if you tap the helpline in the app?
What the helpline does help you with is connecting you with your country’s official government information to understand precautions, hygiene, symptoms, and what to do if you have travelled.
A helpline is an emergency number. If you are experiencing life-threatening issues, please call your doctor or emergency number.
