India: Recognizing Old Friends

IndiaDelhi

"Last week, a schoolmate of mine, whom I had not talked to in over 10 years, called me. Truecaller displayed his name (Anand), and I said "how are you, Anand?" He was stunned that I recognized him from his "voice" after 10 years."

How a user explains Truecaller to his friends:

"On my Android I have Truecaller installed. Whenever an incoming call comes, Truecaller takes that number, searches its' database (which contains millions of phone numbers) and displays the results on a floating window on top of the incoming call screen. This all happens within the first 3-5 rings, depending on your connection speed."
