Last weekend, the sun shone brightly on the Zain Innovation Campus (ZINC) in Amman, Jordan as 200 engineering students participated in CodingWiz hackathon. Our Truecrew Brand Ambassadors were there to capture the action!

For three days, the students divided into fourteen teams to develop mobile applications in strict time constraints. CodingWiz began in 2013, and is a prized programming contest in Amman, Jordan, for students and recent graduates.

As we had such a great time last year at the hackathon, we decided to bring more Truecaller Brand Ambassadors to get in on the fun. Brand Ambassadors Mahmoud AL-Qadah, Faisal AL-Nirmy and Feras Nour passed by to provide participants with Truecaller t-shirts, stickers and gave a presentation about how developers work at Truecaller.

“The students were friendly and welcomed us as Truecaller Ambassadors in a very friendly and nice way,” said Mahmoud AL-Qadah, senior Truecrew Brand Ambassador.

Mahmoud spent time with the students going over how our 75 engineers in Stockholm, Sweden work together to create Truecaller and Truedialer, our two apps that are available for free in the app stores. “Special thanks to Jordan TV for the coverage, Zain-Zinc Jordan for the lovely hospitality, and of course to Maher Okush the head organizer of CodingWiz.”

Feras Nour, a newly officiated Truecaller Brand Ambassador, attended CodingWiz as his first event with the Ambassador team. “I met Faisal & Mahmoud for the first time. And it was my first event with Truecaller so I was really excited about it.”

“It was an honor to represent the company,” said Faisal AL-Nirmy, who is our Brand Ambassador of the Month of May and new to the Truecrew Brand Ambassador program.

Congratulations to the winning team, IRIS from Hashemite University with their winning app to help people who wear glasses not to wear it whenever they use their mobile.
